Tensions Rise in Roborssor Village After Alleged Diamond Disappears

A potential diamond discovery in Roborssor Village has sparked confusion and growing tension after the stone in question mysteriously disappeared.

Fatmata Sankoh, a local farmer, reportedly unearthed the stone while working her land. Convinced it might be a diamond, she handed it over to a young man in the village, Alias Wanda. Wanda then brought it to Yusif Tarawallie, a visitor from Kono District known for his background in diamond mining.

According to Wanda, Tarawallie confirmed that the stone was indeed a diamond. However, Tarawallie denies ever making such a statement. Investigations suggest he later traveled to Freetown with the stone and showed it to a relative. That relative, according to those close to the situation, is allegedly trying to suppress any discussion about the matter through traditional means.

Since then, the stone has vanished, and Tarawallie has not produced any proof of its whereabouts. His silence has fueled suspicion, with many in the community believing the stone was authentic. Others remain unsure, as no formal verification has taken place.

The incident has divided the village. Some residents are openly speculating about what happened, while others are withholding judgment until more facts are known. The dispute comes at a delicate time for Roborssor, which was recently identified as having mineral potential. Planned exploration activities have now been delayed due to the ongoing conflict.

So far, there has been no official word from local authorities regarding the matter.
