Court Orders Thomas Daddy Brima and Aminata Bangura to Pay NLe 240,000

Court Orders Thomas Daddy Brima and Aminata Bangura to Pay NLe 240,000

In a recent legal decision, the court has ordered Thomas Daddy Brima and Aminata Bangura to pay NLe 240,000 following a dismissed application they had filed. The court determined that their legal action was premature and failed to follow the proper internal procedures established by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA).

According to the ruling, the two applicants neglected to exhaust available mechanisms within the SLFA before escalating the matter to court. This procedural misstep led to their request being thrown out. They had also agreed to take on liability for damages in case the injunction they sought was deemed inappropriate — a risk that ultimately did not play out in their favor.

The judge underscored that halting the actions of the opposing party could have resulted in more harm than allowing them to proceed. As a result, the court sided with the Respondents, who argued that Brima and Bangura had been warned but still chose to proceed carelessly.

In conclusion, the court ordered Brima and Bangura to pay NLe 240,000 as compensation for the unnecessary legal costs incurred by the Respondents. The decision serves as a reminder of the importance of following institutional procedures and using the legal system responsibly.
