Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty Announce Separation
In a joint statement, the couple shared that they have decided to end their marriage and are now separated. They emphasized that no third party was involved and expressed a united commitment to raising their two children, while also requesting privacy for their family. They added that there would be no further comment on the matter.
Cat and Patrick were married in September 2012 during a ceremony in Rome. Their relationship began years after they first worked together in the early 2000s. Although they had co-hosted a talent show at that time, romance didn't blossom until much later, when Patrick famously flew from Belfast to Los Angeles just to join Cat for a birthday lunch—a spontaneous gesture that marked the beginning of their relationship.
The couple spent over 14 years living in California, where Cat found success hosting a popular American talent show. They returned to London in 2020, and more recently, Cat became a familiar face on a UK morning show, co-hosting alongside Ben Shephard.
Patrick, originally known for his work in comedy and television, began his career in stand-up before moving into presenting. Over the years, he has hosted several notable programmes and documentaries, including deeply personal work reflecting on his own family history and Northern Ireland’s past. In 2023, he stepped into a major new role as the host of a long-running late-night talk show.
Despite their separation, the couple has expressed their intention to remain devoted co-parents and have asked for understanding and privacy as they navigate this new chapter.
