Mohamed Poboski Bangura Questions New SLFA Leadership

Mohamed Poboski Bangura Questions New SLFA Leadership

Former Sierra Leone international striker Mohamed “Poboski” Bangura has expressed concerns about the newly elected leadership of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), led by Babadi Kamara.

The new executive, which came into office only three weeks ago, is facing early criticism from Bangura, who says he is not impressed with how they have started. In a live video on social media, he argued that football in Sierra Leone was doing better under the previous president, Thomas Daddy Brima, and that he has not seen fresh ideas or clear action from the new leadership so far.

Bangura told his followers to pay close attention to upcoming matches next month to judge for themselves how the new team will perform. He said he is watching carefully to see whether they can take the game forward.

His remarks sparked quick reactions online, with many fans and players debating whether it was too soon to criticize the new executive. Some argued that the leadership needs time, reminding critics that they have a four-year term to deliver results. Others supported Bangura’s right to speak out, pointing out that as a former national player, his opinion carries weight.

The new SLFA team came into office with high expectations, promising to strengthen grassroots football, support local clubs, and improve the running of domestic leagues. Bangura’s comments have now put added pressure on them, as many Sierra Leoneans wait to see how the administration will handle its first major challenges.
